This series came about a bit by chance, on a day of photographic tidying up. In winter 2022-23 I have been using my Lensbaby Sol45 lens a lot on my walks in the woods. I've been playing around a lot with the ICM (intentional camera movement) technique because I'm fascinated by it and this lens allows me to add blur where I want to, due to its uniqueness. At the time of post processing I kept thinking about the big fire at the end of January not far from my home and the many others that continue to devastate forests around the world. That winter will be remembered for its long period of drought, at least for us.
